Wilson Blackley

Born in regional Victoria’s hilly South Gippsland, Wilson Blackley's musical journey started at an early age, picking up his first pair of drumsticks at just two years old.

Blackley was raised on his mother's record collection, absorbing a large variety of genres.  From acts like The Beatles, Elton John and Jimi Hendrix to the Stax and Motown collections, Wilson developed an ear for the classic sounds of that era.

By the early age of 7, he began producing songs in his bedroom, and at just 15 was playing headline shows across Victoria.

"(Wilson is) fast becoming one of Melbourne's alternative-soul's pre-eminent shining stars" — Australian Independent Record Labels Association

“Wilson Blackley is an artist whose lyricism, musicianship, and artistry is far beyond his years, and possesses an innate ability to speak directly to the soul. It's rare for an artist to release a debut single so powerful, but clearly, artists like Blackley are a rare breed." — Tyler Jenke, Editor, Rolling Stone Australia

Wilson has already gained impressive live opportunities – festivals like NYE on The Hill, Ocean Sounds and Brunswick Music Festival; joining lineups with The Teskey Brothers, Boy & Bear and more.

This April, Wilson arrives with his new soul number, 'Repeat Love' — co-produced with Sensible J (REMI, Sampa The Great, House of Beige).
